Banana Hammock is one of the newer cannabis strains created by cannabis breeding experts from Ethos genetics in Colorado. It is a cross between two Indica dominant hybrids; Grape God and Mandarin Sunset. Being Indica dominant, Banana Hammock produces large foliage with a purple hue. The leaves of this plant are also densely covered with crystal trichromes that give the leaves a whitish appearance. The trichromes make these leaves difficult to crush without the use of a grinder.
The grape and honey scented smoke from Banana Hammock is unmistakable and indicative of the rich terpene profile. However, don’t mistake the purple hue of this plant’s foliage to be the cause of the grape like scent. Pigmentation is as a result of the abounding flavanoids while scents are attributable to the presence of terpenes. This strain lacks the strong skunk like cannabis odor but is instead clothed with tropical undertones that make the hit gentle on the throat.
Like most Indica strains, Banana Hammock takes a short time to grow, taking between 55-60 days from sowing to flowering. This strain has high amounts of THC, testing above 20%. The potent body stone makes it ideal for evening use when you just want to kick off your shoes and be a couch potato. However, the CBD content of this strain is low, being around 2%.
Banana Hammock has a high terpene profile; 70/100. Going by the strong grapelike scent, BH definitely has a high concentration of Geraniol and Linalool. The citrus and lime undertones are suggestive of Limonene.
Geraniol smells of grapes and is a potent neuroprotectant.
Linalool has also been shown to be an immune booster and helps to reduce lung inflammation. Geraniol has a sweet grape like scent with hints of citrus. Linalool has potent stress relieving and anti anxiety effects.
Limonene has a citrusy smell and has been shown to be a potent mood elevator as well as stress reliever. It also has antibacterial and antifungal properties to boot.
What Consumers are Saying:
When you take Banana Hammock, you will first feel the effects in your mind. Then slowly, your whole body begins to relax from shoulders going down. As much as the mind high may not be impairing, you may still not feel motivated to work or do something requiring keen concentration. This is why it works best as an evening punch.
Potential Medical Benefits
Below are a list of conditions that Banana Hammock may be helpful in managing. We have selected these conditions based upon two sources: reviews from consumers who report using the strain to manage these symptoms, and/or substantial scientific evidence suggesting that its dominant terpenes may help manage the conditions listed below.
Some users reported dry mouth, and dizziness. A rare side effect would be paranoia.
