Very friendly staff upon walking in. Smiles and friendliness at the counter. I chose the wrong budtender at the end of the row. Tall thin guy, brown hair, beard. Super passive aggressive energy, and every question was a bother for him. I asked if I had points and he said “you can check the app for that.” Other Zen Leaf locations in Illinois not only offer that info to you, but they don’t brush you off and ask you to look it up yourself. I spent a good amount of money there today. Maybe my points were only enough for a tip. I always tip for even neutral service. I use my points to tip. Not this time. He didn’t even push the bag my way or say thank you. Minimal effort possible, with a passive aggressive attitude off the bat. I’ll stay with Zen Leaf, but not that location.
I don't usually leave poor reviews. Perhaps the individual assisting me was having an off day? My lack of empathy isn't the issue here. The very rude and otherwise occupied individual had a tablet and was not interested in what I had to say or any questions I had about any inventory. It was a very unpleasant experience. I wish I had taken this individuals name. I honestly should have walked out because I've visited other dispensaries around the US and haven't been met with such disservice. Every question I asked was as if I was taking away from whatever he was doing on this tablet.
The staff is the absolute best here. They’re always so friendly and helpful. Today my friend lost her phone there and I had to go over to pick it up and they found it kept it safe for her. So off topic but had to share haha
I come in this place all the time. And once in a while you get a woman that has an attitude nasty. My anxiety is already high. I come in. I see 2 women talking to one man. Giving him all the information about a new 20% promotion or a new cabbage membership. So when my person comes back to give me my order. She doesn't explain anything to me. Even though I verbally said something out loud and then, when she gave me my package, she didn't ask me, did I want a bag? She didn't even mark off the receipt. I asked her. I said so you're not gonna mark off the receipt what I get, she said, not everybody doesn't and push the item to me. This is so embarrassing, why do you? You have people in there that are nasty to certain people but nice to others.It's ridiculous.I spend so much money coming in there and it's only 1 person that's nice.She has glasses.She's mixed with curly hair other than that that's it
I've had a great experience with Nora, Yareliz, Jay and the staff at Zen Leaf. They have a good selection at a decent price point. I'd recommend stopping by if you're in the area.
Logan was training a new employee and she was doing a great job! I was waiting in line while she was helping someone else with what seemed a slightly complicated order or some sort of snafu, Logan assisted and so did the other employees to get it sorted out. Great team work! Loved Logan’s vibe, very friendly and chill.
Updated review - An African American lady budtender there was quite rude for no reason to me and led to a bad experience.She walked away before I could finish talking about my order. Then hurried and rushed me like she did not want to be there - and not listening to my selection or questions for over 30 seconds, and also gave a little attitude.It is not a good look when you have poor customer service in an already soulless Illinois Cannabis dispensary experience.Giving a 2-star because the dispensary itself wasn't so bad. But if that's the service i will not be coming back in the future.
At first, I was ecstatic. They have good prices, a good variety, the whole 9 yards. BUT they shorted me 3.2 grams.I live 2 hours away, and went while I was on vacation. So, I'm not gonna go out of my way to get that fixed, but I'm highly disappointed. Never did I think I would deal w this at a dispensary. Take a scale w you.
They have a nice tablet based system I've never seen before; it is fast and efficient. The system allows you to get in and out faster. They have a wide selection of products. Just like every dispensary I've been to, you can't expect Zen to have every product that you like and have gotten attached to, the same products are just not there all the time and may never be back or at the same price point.They give you a small Zen paper bag for all your goodies, customers typically throw the bag at the nearest trash can outside the dispensary. This is not good for the environment. I am sure it's some law that all your purchases must be in bag. Zen can you find a way to fix this? I have 2 bags now, I forgot my old usable bag was at home (temporary hotel room home).Update September 2023: I made a purchase at a dispensary in California and the bud tender refused to let me use a bag I already had upon arriving, they insisted I take my purchase in their store branded bag. Oh well, I tried to reduce waste and I failed.
I’ve always had a great experience with Zen Leaf and this location in particular. Staff is so friendly and cares about your customer experience. I’ve been fortunate to be helped by Krysta several times at the counter and she is an absolute sweetheart. She is very informative and always mentions how many rewards points I have, and lets me know how many points I’m receiving from each purchase. I really appreciate that because I was unaware that my first year purchasing at Zen Leaf I was not collecting any rewards points! Thank you to this awesome team and shoutout to Krysta!
