Hit or miss the flower is never consistent. That’s my biggest problem, one week it’s great the next it’s like they picked that batch too early and even tho it’s the same flower it’s not cured the same, doesn’t smoke the same only cost the same. You should be able to smell the flower you are buying before hand and inspect it. Otherwise it’s a gamble ever single time which sucks. The shatter is garbage, never have I seen shatter or concentrate so dark it almost looks like they’re reselling reclaim! The “wax” is a bit of a joke too, you leave it out of the freezer/fridge for a day and it becomes chalky and loses what seems to be some of the wetness to it like it dries out. Not to fond of the governments hand in my vices, the people here are legit and chill but the way this is run is a complete joke. If you know someone can get smoke outside of having a medical card you’ll not only save yourself a ton of money but you’ll be happier knowing you’re not supporting a government operated money printer.

Do NOT go to this store.I have been going to this location since it opened and it is the WORST example of customer service I have seen from ANY business in my entire life. The employees here are at BEST rude and unhelpful, and more often than not aggressive (sometimes physically) and INCREDIBLY unhelpful and rude.This store simply would not exist or make money if there were not laws in place that gave customers no other choice but to shop here.I used to hope that things at this store would get better with time as it has just opened and I assumed needed some time to get on their feet, but I have recently started going to the Norfolk location which opened more recently and it is a night and day difference in customer service.Why the staff at the Virginia Beach location have developed such a sense of superiority is beyond me. It truly feels like the staff at the VB location are expecting customers to come in baring gifts and praises for their highness as they sit behind their glass window.This store is truly a testament to awful hiring practices. Hopefully recreational legalization destroy this business entirely, good riddance.

My first visit I was physically accosted by a regular customer. Was told by 2 others that they see him every time they come. That means employees know who he is. But after asking several employees none would identify him. I had one tech person talk to me on the phone and apologized profusely and promised another would contact me about the incident. It's been over a week and no one has called. I am fine but an older weaker person would have fallen and very likely seriously injuredThis place seems to protect regular customers who have passed and attack people out of his paranoid thinking. I think next step is calling department of health. Many were very nice. But nobody wanted to take any action. Be warned if a guy in a yellow jacket starts acting hyper keep a safe distance or just leave. Good salesperson and products. Extremely poor management. Zero protection or actions by gaurd. I was told they watched the video and thought it was hilarious. This I was told by a pharmacy tech who spoke with me. She was disgusted by her coworkers who didn't understand why she wasn't laughing at an old man being attacked and thrown around.

When I fist starting going there it was great and friendly staff. Now it seems to be different people behind the counter. A select few individuals there make me not want to return or just do an online order. Wish I would have got their names, but one is the "Pharmacist." He was rude and irritated from the start of asking questions about products. If you take offence to customers asking questions then you shouldn't be in customer service. Unfortunately these select employees give a sour taste to the ones that are actually helpful. Not to mention the products are overpriced and a lot of things are never in stock. If certain things sell out quickly then maybe the company should order double. It sucks to have something work and the next time I go to get it and it not be there.

Based on their website I can only hope RISE comes to this area asap. I would drive over an hour to get away from this place. The staff here is great for the most part. Facility is very nice, parking is an issue at times. I would be willing to pay their ridiculous prices if the quality made up for it, but it doesn’t. Other dispensaries in the Cannabist/gleaf chain seem to have much better offerings so hopefully it improves. It has to improve….almost everything is either dry, weak with laughable thc levels, too leafy or a combination of. Dharma products are the only ones worthwhile and they sell out in a day, and apparently only come in once a month. Quality is the issue for me, staff and facility kept from a 1 star.

My "Hope Dealer" today was named Alexa and she was outstanding! I admired the Equality pin she had on her lanyard and she asked if I wanted one. Of course I said yes, and she proceeded to remove it and give it to me. I thought maybe the store was giving them out but no, she gave me hers and she let me hug her for it. Staff needs better training and knowledge. How little they know is truly embarrassing to the entire cannabis industry. The male that works there with the tattoos and long hair is very Knowledgeable but everyone else never knows how to answer questions or are knowledgeable of terms used in the industry/dispensaries in places like California . Also, the pricing is still way too high. If you want to protect people from bad cannabis from unregulated pop ups, then maybe make legal dispensaries more affordable and knowledgeable.

Pharm techs are knowledgeable and able to help you find similar strains based on cannabinoid composition.Prices are outrageous as is typical for new medical markets but they throw sales at you quite often. It's not cheap to stand up an entire supply chain. Even established companies have to since those supply chains crossing state lines violates federal law.I've also heard rumblings about "dispensary pebbles" when buying flower. Thing you have to remember is dispensaries use industrial machines to trim hundreds of pounds at a time. These machines output the inner densest part of the bud. Personally I love the round manicured buds, but if you're not prepared it can shock you how they're smaller than you're likely used to. It's all sold by weight, anyway, so you're not missing out on anything!

Do NOT go to this store.I have been going to this location since it opened and it is the WORST example of customer service I have seen from ANY business in my entire life. The employees here are at BEST rude and unhelpful, and more often than not aggressive (sometimes physically) and INCREDIBLY unhelpful and rude.This store simply would not exist or make money if there were not laws in place that gave customers no other choice but to shop here.I used to hope that things at this store would get better with time as it has just opened and I assumed needed some time to get on their feet, but I have recently started going to the Norfolk location which opened more recently and it is a night and day difference in customer service.Why the staff at the Virginia Beach location have developed such a sense of superiority is beyond me. It truly feels like the staff at the VB location are expecting customers to come in baring gifts and praises for their highness as they sit behind their glass window.This store is truly a testament to awful hiring practices. Hopefully recreational legalization destroy this business entirely, good riddance.

The manager of this location is rude, overly aggressive, gets loud with customers and will never admit mistakes for wrong orders, defected carts, mislabeled items. All of the cannabist stores are good but the va beach store is my home store and home is where the heart is ❤️ im so happy i can show my appreciation to them with tips for what they do for us because dealing with the public sometimes can be not so easy. They have an amazing staff who goes above and beyond for people and do it with a smile all while being severely short staffed. They are the best !

My first visit I was physically accosted by a regular customer. Was told by 2 others that they see him every time they come. That means employees know who he is. But after asking several employees none would identify him. I had one tech person talk to me on the phone and apologized profusely and promised another would contact me about the incident. It's been over a week and no one has called. I am fine but an older weaker person would have fallen and very likely seriously injuredThis place seems to protect regular customers who have passed and attack people out of his paranoid thinking. I think next step is calling department of health. Many were very nice. But nobody wanted to take any action. Be warned if a guy in a yellow jacket starts acting hyper keep a safe distance or just leave. Good salesperson and products. Extremely poor management. Zero protection or actions by gaurd. I was told they watched the video and thought it was hilarious. This I was told by a pharmacy tech who spoke with me. She was disgusted by her coworkers who didn't understand why she wasn't laughing at an old man being attacked and thrown around.

When I fist starting going there it was great and friendly staff. Now it seems to be different people behind the counter. A select few individuals there make me not want to return or just do an online order. Wish I would have got their names, but one is the "Pharmacist." He was rude and irritated from the start of asking questions about products. If you take offence to customers asking questions then you shouldn't be in customer service. Unfortunately these select employees give a sour taste to the ones that are actually helpful. Not to mention the products are overpriced and a lot of things are never in stock. If certain things sell out quickly then maybe the company should order double. It sucks to have something work and the next time I go to get it and it not be there.

Based on their website I can only hope RISE comes to this area asap. I would drive over an hour to get away from this place. The staff here is great for the most part. Facility is very nice, parking is an issue at times. I would be willing to pay their ridiculous prices if the quality made up for it, but it doesn’t. Other dispensaries in the Cannabist/gleaf chain seem to have much better offerings so hopefully it improves. It has to improve….almost everything is either dry, weak with laughable thc levels, too leafy or a combination of. Dharma products are the only ones worthwhile and they sell out in a day, and apparently only come in once a month. Quality is the issue for me, staff and facility kept from a 1 star.

Absolutely fantastic customer service from the security guard, front desk, to the exceptional service and attention I got from Jenny inside the main dispensary, she was very descriptive on every aspect of the product and how it works, and doesn't rush you, giving her own opinions on the products and how they worked for her....first time here and will be the ONLY place I go from now on, the products are exceptional, if you feel the price is to steep then go to someone else and settle for mid grade and don't complain, but if you want the best then this is the place!

My "Hope Dealer" today was named Alexa and she was outstanding! I admired the Equality pin she had on her lanyard and she asked if I wanted one. Of course I said yes, and she proceeded to remove it and give it to me. I thought maybe the store was giving them out but no, she gave me hers and she let me hug her for it. She was extremely knowledgeable about the variety of products and her customer service was impeccable. I left feeling better than when I walked in and she made my whole day! Promote her!

By the looks of pricing I will never shop at this dispensary. $50 for 8th of flower that’s only 16% thc… maybe if it’s 30’s but you can literally get mid-high 20’s for $35! Staff needs better training and knowledge. How little they know is truly embarrassing to the entire cannabis industry. The male that works there with the tattoos and long hair is very Knowledgeable but everyone else never knows how to answer questions or are knowledgeable of terms used in the industry/dispensaries in places like California . Also, the pricing is still way too high. If you want to protect people from bad cannabis from unregulated pop ups, then maybe make legal dispensaries more affordable and knowledgeable.

The same product, lab created and tested with organic ingredients goes for $35. And you have jacked the price up to $100?!!!!!! It is also why you have competition locally tons of pop up events and festivals coming to town that can legally gift more potent and far less expensive medicinal items- with lab created CLEAN , organic, tested products sold locally. Most People refuse to pay over $150 just to get their card and go to the dispensary bc most of the products are WEAK and the ones that do have enough THC to treat what we need it to are again- Wildly UNAFFORDABLE!!!!! Pharm techs are knowledgeable and able to help you find similar strains based on cannabinoid composition.Prices are outrageous as is typical for new medical markets but they throw sales at you quite often. It's not cheap to stand up an entire supply chain. Even established companies have to since those supply chains crossing state lines violates federal law.I've also heard rumblings about "dispensary pebbles" when buying flower. Thing you have to remember is dispensaries use industrial machines to trim hundreds of pounds at a time. These machines output the inner densest part of the bud. Personally I love the round manicured buds, but if you're not prepared it can shock you how they're smaller than you're likely used to. It's all sold by weight, anyway, so you're not missing out on anything!

The Portsmouth facility is in the same network so the shorter drive and linked systems made it easy to get in and out.Interior design is great and the staff was friendly as to be expected from a cannibus establishment.Pricing is everything I'm used to for Virginia Dospensaries and will likely stay that way till it's legal to sell in 2024.They had a large menu and easy to navigate choices.
