This store always smells terrible. Also make sure you dont accidentally hand them too much money. Also make sure you get your change! The website is never up to date, making online orders almost impossible and order selection in general very difficult. The staff is generally friendly and helpful though.
Just moved here from the Hoffman Estates area and I already like this dispensary much more than any up by Chicago, except for Verilife which is great. Laid back and relaxed and always has some kind of great deal. Getting a new card or renewing gets you $25 off your first 4 purchases. Super helpful with information on how to get your card too. I see some reviews about wait times being bad which might be true, but coming from Chicago where wait times are dramatically worse, I'm pretty happy with how quick I get in and out. Also, I don't really think waiting 10 - 20 min is that big of a deal, especially when the prices they offer let you buy in bulk more easily. That being said, last 4 times I went in less than 10 minutes each time. Worth checking out

Great dispensary with a great staff! Haven’t had a single issue since I started coming here. Tend to come on the less busy days/time of day since there can be a decent line.
Lea was incredibly helpful with helping me submit everything for my medical card and in finding out why there was an issue on the state site for me. I'm immensely greatful for her help with the process for my medical card and adding my caregivers to it. I had no clue I could have 3 compassionate caregivers, so it was helpful to find out I could have both my spouse & eldest 21yr old child. The Urbana location is lucky to have her (and the other staff too), as they are what makes myself and many others I know pick this location and company over the several others in our town & surround towns. Location is clean, staff sweet/helpful/knowledgeable, and professional (without the cold disconnect you can often get at others). Even if you put an order in online, expect to wait in line for at least 30 minutes. There weren't even any medical patients the last time I visited and the wait time didn't change. In fact, I sat at the counter and waited, watching the line build behind me, for another 10 minutes while they got the products. Keep in mind I placed the order ahead of time. Never enough people working the counter either.They are very proud of their business, but these shopping experiences are by far the worst out of any place I've been. Go to any other place in town.Now, you'll see a canned response from the owner. Such a common complaint they don't even take the time to actually apologize for it personally.
Came same day I saw what I wanted that was on sale. I got there when they opened as I was afraid they would sell out. They quoted me a higher price and then informed me the sale ended the day before. Don't advertise a sale in the morning before you open and change prices. Seems kind of shady to me. I am seriously thinking about taking my business elsewhere. Sad because I am a long time customer. Doubt I get a response as I am not a med client. I also can't preorder because there new website won't let me and no one at Nu Era has helped or explain the situation.
Medical patient, went to pick up my order like usual. However the clerk told me that yesterday's prices were not valid today. NO WHERE ON THE WEBSITE DID IT SAY WHEN IT WAS ENDING...when I asked to speak to a manager she wouldn't even speak to me....how unprofessional. I'm a medical cannabis patient and need my medicine. This isn't my first bad experience with this "company". GO TO SUNNYSIDE.It's not worth the headache
Nice and clean yet the system is trash. They need to figure out a way to not waste people’s time. Med patients get priority? Well give them a separate line. It’s ways to please everyone and this is the most disrespectful system I’ve experienced at a dispensary. I placed two orders, specifically said I had flower … she comes back with a preroll. Where are the listening skills? Why look at my id and not make sure the container matches? There’s really no excuse however i did leave empty handed, disappointed and not really appreciated as a first time visitor. I will NOT be back. Thank you to the gentleman who explained everything to patiently.. yet the check out process just destroyed the entire experience
Seems like every time I go in here, they have something new to share. This place is more than a retail shop... The people here want to help you feel your best. Even when they are short staffed, they are always upbeat and helpful from the moment you walk in. Visited yesterday. It's quickly becoming the only dispensary I'll go to as a med patient. The new assistant manager (forgive me I cannot remember his name I think he said Jeffrey?) was lovely as could be and helped me tremendously. The employees here are always really kind but he went above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed. And as someone that uses weed to survive, I couldn't be more grateful that he recognized the need and helped ❤️
NuEra Urbana is fantastic! I'm a pretty frequent customer since they opened and have been so impressed by the staff, service, and products. I recently had an issue with a price discrepancy online, and Erica the manager was so polite and professional about it. As a former GM, I know how hard it is to keep quality staff, and I notice how many faces are the same every time I go. Kudos for having stools for employees to sit on as well!
THIS LOCATION IS STEALING PRODUCT FROM YOU - GO TO THE EXOTIC SMOKE SHOP - GET A SCALE - CHECK YOUR WEED WEIGHT WHAT IT SHOULD -THESE PEOPLE ARE STEALING FROM YOU!!!!The Urbana location has been consistently stealing weed from the jars. Many times I didn't believe the accurate weed was in the jar. When I bought a quarter(7 grams) last week it only weighed 3.1 when I brought it home. This business is nothing but a bunch of thieves who are tampering with product, unsealing sealed jars, in validating the lab tests, selling contaminated product and breaking every bond of trust they have with the community. How dare nu era tamper steal with product, behind their double locked doors and sliding porta hole, from their own community. When I asked the manager what was going on he looked so guilty. I think my jar was pinched multiple times by multiple people. An investigation should be initiated because this is so far from unacceptable.I've contacted nu era and haven't gotten any response back. Here come the complaints!
Great place if you're looking to obtain your medical card! I walked in and was immediately greeted by their nurse Krystal who was so awesome, friendly, and easy to talk to. She made the process so seamless and comfortable for me. Had I knew it was this easy I would've been paid this place a visit! 10/10 service do recommend!!!
I love coming here, the employees are all always nice to me and make conversation with me and remember who I am. They also have a million sales going on all the time so you can get stuff super cheap around the holidays
All I can say is energy is REAL! Cashier 76495, register 6 seemed as if she got a little bothered because I brought in $5.00 of change with cash ( all silver ) that she had to recount. 🤷🏾♀️ I mean if you don't accept change then it should be posted somewhere in the store or on the site like everything else. Otherwise, it spends the same. I knew she was irritated because she didn't bother asking me if I wanted a bag ( as if I wanted the whole world to know what I just purchased ) and if it wasn't meant to be discreet then the whole world would be able to see inside the dispensary...🙄 ANYWHO, she just gave me my items as if she couldn't wait for me to get out of the chair. It wasn't bad customer service but it wasn't the best either! In the near future, Ms. register 76495 needs to hit her THC pen more often before work, during, and after! You never know who you're serving.😉 It can take forever to gain a customer and only a second to loose'em.
Used to be good but lately has been trash. Got a cart with a broken atomizer, a disposable that stopped working even with charge and oil inside, and a cart that came with a head piece that was different from advertised and got the oil stuck through it and burnt my mouth. Got replacement for free, but still inconvenient. Will begin shopping elsewhere.
The staff goes above and beyond in all aspects of customer service from the minute you enter the dispensary. Nu Era always has an extensive selection to choose from and the staff to educate the consumer. I love this place! Big shoutout to all the employees and customers for making this such a huge success in our area! United we stand divided we fall.

NuEra Urbana has consistently been a guiding star in customer service. Whether dealing with a (rare) problem, quotidian requests, or special needs, they are always amongst the BEST customer service I have ever received in any context, anywhere. Truly superb.
favorite dispensary in CU. staff is always so helpful and friendly, and they treat you like family. many employees will refer to you by name and offer special products based on what you have ordered in the past, which is always nice to have someone looking out for new things for you to try. service is always quick for medical so i never have to worry about missing pickup times. also the only dispensary in CU (that i know of) that offers curbside pickup for medical patients. staff at nuera deserves all the love and praise you can give them! truly a wonderful and educated team!
